Aahh - my first weekend off from coaching in 3 weeks was pretty much amazing.
friday night - cookout at spin followed by the always entertaining AFDC steering committee meeting. then early to bed. it makes me smile just to think of early to bed. :)
saturday - yummy brunch. nick/amber hosted breakfast club. then a thorough cleaning of the shed. i can finally walk into the shed without having to navigate through old air mattresses, grills, deep fryers, random shingles, etc. yah! i love organization. then spent some time turning the soil in the garden. i love running my fingers through the dirt in the garden. it's kindof awesome.
then hanging out with britt and angela all afternoon/evening, just chilling at home. cooking. eating. playing connect four. so much eating. so much connect four. it was awesome. didn't get to bed QUITE as early, but that's ok.
then brunch this morning at bluebird cafe. delicious. and then off to lowes and target for some around the house shopping, followed by an afternoon of garden planting. gardens are hard. but really rewarding. in 7-20 days i should be seeing signs of pumpkins, swiss chard, collards, tomatoes, peas, potatoes, and onions. YAH!!!!!!!!!! i love that feeling. i love the garden. lets just hope that this year i am able to maintain that feeling all through the hot summer months. turns out that when you get lazy and forget to water your garden for a week in july in atlanta, the whole thing basically dies. so...yeah...new year...new hopes. :)
then...my first "track" workout of the season, except in the park down the street instead of at the track. running is hard. my chest hurt. and my legs were tight. and i was slow. but it felt great in a lot of ways. i love that feeling of pushing myself. it made me a little more excited for this season.
and now, to round off the evening, i'm just sitting here typing on the floor. the dog's in my lap. she had surgery this week, so she's been super cuddly and adorable all weekend. how did i fall in love with this ugly little thing?
it's almost time for bed. i don't want to start off the weekend exhausted, and i gotta get to work early in the morning. so...crosswording now...bed in 15.
